St George’s Day Parade

St Georges Day Parade – Sunday 22nd April 2018 Setting off.Scout section.Parade inspection. Chesterfield District’s Annual St Georges Day Parade and Promise Renewal will take place on Sunday April 22nd. As in previous years, the parade will assemble in front of the Town Hall and march to the Parish Church.  All Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Young Leaders and Leaders are expected to attend in full uniform.  (From past experience it could be a bit chilly and therefore everyone should wear a layer or two under their uniform.) 3rd Brampton will meet in the little car park on Rose Hill West no later than 14:10.  Free passes for the Town Hall car park are available here. Bike Ride – July 2015 We spent a couple of Friday nights cycling and learning about cycle safety. All the Cubs were very enthusiastic and cycled everywhere at 100mph. We finished off the night at the local adventure play area. Anyone else bring a bike?   Cub Camp – June 2015 This year we spent a weekend at Hesley Wood camp site. The site has lots of facilities/activity areas that were enjoyed by everyone (including the leaders). Pictures From Junior Peak 2015 As you can see from the pictures, all our Beavers and Cubs had a great day out at Junior Peak 2015.  There were loads of activities to do, and the weather was great. Off to the activities area.Balloon animals.Lunch time.Photo time.End of the day. Peak Camps are international Scout Camps with around 6,000 scouts from all over the world and takes place at Chatsworth near Baslow. These only take place once every 5 years. As part of the event they have Junior Peak for the Cubs and Beavers to visit and take part and we plan to take the Cubs and Beavers to the Junior Peak event on Thursday 30th July; this will be a fun packed day with activities including Pyrography, Archery, Tunnelling, Balloon Modelling, Low Ropes Bouncy Castle and Crafts in the designated Junior Peak area. The cost will be £15 per child to be paid at the time of booking. This will be a fantastic opportunity for them to experience an international camp for the first time. The Cubs had their winter hike on Saturday 21st February at Carsington Water reservoir. The weather was varied (snow, sunshine, hail and rain) but the Cubs had lots of energy so it did not take long to complete the planned circuit. After dinner, they investigated the Severn Trent visitor centre and wildlife watching area. Cub Hike – May 2014 Back in May ex-Akela and Super Hiker Mark Simons led a 6 mile circular walk for the Cubs, from Ashford-in-the-Water via Monsal Head. The weather was spectacular and the Cubs had a great time – nothing like taking off your walking boots and having a paddle in the River!
