Scout Activities 2016

Caving – December 2016

All the Scouts that went on the caving activity in Matlock really enjoyed the morning. A really big thank you to the caving team that looked after us all on the day.

Fashion Challenge – December 2016

Scouts were asked to create an ‘outfit’ made from recycled materials – these are the results!

Autumn Walk – November 2016

Our Autumn walk was enjoyed by the four Scouts that attended! The day started in drizzle, walking up the path/stream next to Peveril Castle. The rain stopped mid morning and held off for the rest of the day as we made our way round across the top of Mam Tor and back down to Castleton, at which point the sun even made an appearance. A big thank you to Mark who organised the route and got our Scouts involved in the map reading.

Bonfire Night – November 2016

Scouts enjoying bonfire night.

Climbing @ The Works – October 2016

Scouts enjoying a night of bouldering at The Climbing Works, Sheffield.

Moonbase Challenge – September 2016

Scouts constructing moonbases out of newspaper  – quite a tricky challenge!

Games Night – July 2016

Scouts and parents enjoyed a games night in Somerall park where we played a few rounds of rounders and dodgeball. Both parents and Scouts were very competitive.

River Walk – July 2016

The Scouts enjoyed a river walk along the River Hipper, starting at The Bulls Head, Holymoorside, and finishing at Somersall Park, Brampton. At certain places it was almost waist deep.

Cardboard Ovens – May 2016

The Scouts made cardboard ovens and attempted to cook brownies and scones. Lots of ovens were made, but they were a bit short on time and so nothing edible was baked (this didn’t stop the Scouts from tasting their efforts or eating the uncooked brownie mixture).
