Beaver Programme

Beaver Scouts are the youngest section within the Scouting family. The section caters for boys and girls aged between six and eight years old. Beavers are easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts. Beavers enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits, and helping others. Beavers also take part in sleepovers, which are often the first time a young person has spent a night away from home.

3rd Brampton run two Beaver Sections. The Rother Beavers meet on Mondays and the Hipper Beavers meet on Fridays. Both follow a programme of activities on a termly basis. Programmes and additional activity information for both Beaver Sections can be found below. Updates will be added to the programmes as soon as they become available, so please check back here regularly. The latest information about this Friday’s/Monday’s activities can also be found on the ‘Friday Night’/’Monday Night’ posts accessible from the home page.

Please note that all leaders, young leaders, and helpers in all capacities throughout the Group are unpaid volunteers that, in spite of their own family and work commitments, contribute their time, efforts, skills, and often other resources, for the benefit of our young people within the group.

Subs Allocation 2016All members of all sections of the Group pay subs which contribute towards the cost of Capitation (contribution to The Scout Association paid by each Beaver/Cub/Scout), Rent (fees paid to St Thomas’ Church for the Group’s use of the church facilities), Insurance (insurance fee covering loss and theft of equipment owned by the Group), Programme (cost associated with the delivery of the programme in each section), and costs relating to the essential repairs and renewals of existing equipment. The Group endeavours to keep these fees to a minimum, but must ensure that all outgoing expenses are met.

Subs across all sections have increased to £132 annually, effective September 2016. This can be paid termly as 3 payments of £44 by BACS/cash/cheque, or as 12 payments of £11 paid by BACS at the beginning of each calendar month (monthly payments cannot be made by cash/cheque due to the admin resources required to keep track of payments). Please pay electronically wherever possible (3rd Brampton Scout Group – Sort Code 16-16-18 – Account No. 13676668) and ensure that you add your child’s initial and surname to the payment description so that we can reconcile your payment to your child.
